Higher Level Teaching Assistant supporting English and Maths

Contract type: 19 hours per week, term time only, 3 days a week (2 days 8:30am-15:30pm, 1 day 9:00am-15:30pm) all with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
Contract term: Permanent Contract
Salary: Grade 7 - Scale points 12-17 (£28,598-£31,022) per annum, pro rata
Actual Salary: £12,276-£13,320
The successful candidate would work under the guidance of the SENDCo, providing support in addressing the needs of students who require particular help to overcome barriers to learning. He/she would be part of dedicated team of Teaching Assistants and specialist teachers who work collaboratively to enable our SEND students to reach their educational potential.
We are seeking applications from individuals who:
- Can demonstrate patience, tolerance and flexibility
- Have the aptitude to meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualifications.
- Have excellent numeracy/ literacy skills equivalent to NVQ level 2 in English and Maths.
- Have the ability to plan, organise and deliver Key stage 3/4 literacy and numeracy intervention sessions with whole classes, individuals or small groups of students.
Higher Level Teaching Assistant
The post holder will comply with safeguarding policies and procedure and be able to recognise safeguarding signs, report any disclosures & safeguarding concerns immediately to the DSL and monitor students’ safety at all times.
