Salary: Grade 6 Point 8-11 £26,824-£28,142 per annum, pro rata

Actual Salary: £15,151-£15,903 per annum

 

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • The post holder will work within the Special Education Needs faculty at Lakelands Academy, supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH).
  • The person appointed will work under the guidance of The SENDCo and teaching staff. They will work within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work, care and support programmes with individuals or groups, in or out of classroom.  Assistance will be provided to teachers over the whole planning cycle, and with the management and preparation of equipment and resources.  In addition, the professional work of teachers will be complemented by taking responsibility for specific learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. 
  • The post-holder will liaise closely with a range of outside agencies including CAMHS, The Educational Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist and the School counsellor who will advise on strategies to maximise inclusion.
  • The SENDCo will endeavour, alongside the post holder, to promote strong links with the identified Communication and Interaction student’s parents / carers and will support the post-holder in this area.
  • In-house and external training will be provided in meeting the needs of students with Social Emotional Mental Health Needs. 

An additional 10 hours of Level 3 administrative support is available within the SEND team for the right candidate, offering an excellent opportunity to take on extended responsibilities and further develop your skills. This role will involve providing high‑quality administrative support to the SEND service, assisting with day‑to‑day operations, and helping to ensure the effective coordination of processes that support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. The additional hours are flexible and will be allocated based on experience, capability, and service requirements.
